Peruzzi Admits Receiving Used Clothes from Davido as Payment for Songwriting

Nigerian singer and songwriter, Tobechukwu Victor Okoh, widely known as Peruzzi, has confessed to receiving used clothes from his label boss, David Adeleke, also known as Davido, in exchange for writing songs for him. Dailytrust reports that Peruzzi made this revelation during an interview with social media content creator Bae U Barbie’s show, titled ‘Curiosity Made Me Ask’.

When asked about the authenticity of rumors regarding Davido paying him with his used clothes for songwriting, Peruzzi confirmed the practice, revealing that it ceased after Davido compensated him monetarily for one of the songs he penned.

Peruzzi stated, “I will be honest with you, I used to collect Davido’s used clothes as payment for writing songs for him. But there was a particular one I did, and he gave me some money, so I stopped that. I actually used to do that before.

Peruzzi has previously disclosed his contributions to Davido's songs, including ‘Assurance,’ ‘Unavailable,’ and ‘Flora My Flower,’ among others.

Paul O Raises Concerns Over Nigerian Music Industry

In a related development, Nigerian music executive Paul Okoye, popularly known as Paul O, has voiced apprehensions about challenges within the music industry. Paul O, in a post on his Instagram page reported by Dailytrust, predicted a tough year ahead for artists, except for Davido and Burna Boy. He cautioned against following the reggae music path and advised singers to reconsider their pricing strategies amidst the evolving landscape.
