A Police Inspector identified as Taofeek allegedly stabbed Anosikwa Patrick, a resident of Lagos, to death on the 21st of April. The Brother of the Deceased, Anosikwa Augustine has alleged that despite the family's request to review the CCTV footage capturing the stabbing incident, they were informed that the video was not clear.

He argued that there is a potential cover-up related to the CCTV footage at the mall where the incident occurred. He stated that the absence of a video evidence from the CCTV covering the mall fuels their suspicions of deliberate concealment.

On the other hand, the Lagos Police Spokesperson, Benjamin Hundeyin confirmed that the officer involved is a member of the visiting 12 Police Mobile Force (PMF) Squadron. He also noted that the Manager and Chief Security of Skymall where the victim was stabbed had been called in for questioning. The Lagos State Police Commissioner, Adegoke Fayoade has promised to strictly investigate the man. He has directed detectives of the homicide section of the State Criminal Investigation Department to investigate the incident.

He said in an interview with TVC, "'The family is standing on one ground that we want justice for my brother. Because I believe that the police department are being mobilized to safeguard lives and properties but I don't understand why some of them are doing the opposite.

I feel there is a cover-up somewhere regarding the CCTV footage that governs that mall. We asked to see the video of how my brother was stabbed but we were told the video is not clear. That doesn't sound well to me. The footage that covers the entire area will unfold everything, we need to see it to be very sure about what transpired that day.''
