Vinicius Junior was instrumental as Brazil surged to a 4-1 victory over a 10-man Paraguay, eliminating them from the Copa America.

The Real Madrid star netted twice, helping the Selecao bounce back from a lackluster goalless draw against Costa Rica earlier in the tournament.

At the Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas, Brazil's Savinho and Lucas Paqueta also found the net, bringing Brazil closer to the quarter-finals with four points in Group D, just behind leaders Colombia.

A draw against Colombia in their final group match on Tuesday will secure their spot in the last eight.

Paraguay's Omar Alderete scored a stunning long-range goal, but it wasn't enough to save his team from a second consecutive defeat.

The match ended on a sour note for Paraguay with Andres Cubas receiving a late red card.

Brazil had a golden chance to score first when Paqueta's shot hit Cubas' arm, leading to a penalty.

However, Paqueta missed the target. Four minutes later, Vinicius broke the deadlock by finishing off a beautiful move with a shot under Paraguay's goalkeeper Rodrigo Morinigo.

Just before halftime, Savinho extended Brazil's lead with a simple tap-in, and an unfortunate deflection off Alderete resulted in a third goal for Brazil, credited to Vinicius.

Alderete redeemed himself somewhat with a spectacular 25-yard volley early in the second half, reducing the deficit. Paraguay briefly threatened a comeback, especially when Alisson Becker was forced to make a crucial save from Julio Enciso's curling shot.

However, any hopes for Paraguay were dashed when Mathias Villasanti was penalized for handball, and Paqueta successfully converted the resulting penalty.

After the completion of the match, Real Madrid Winger, Vinicius Junior was named the man of the match after his outstanding performance against Paraguay.

He scored two goals, recorded 78% accurate passes, created 2 chances and had 3 shots at goal
