Police in Nyeri have launched investigations into the brutal murder of a 26-year-old woman.
Nancy Wanjogu's lifeless found lying in a pool of blood in her rented house at Kwamuya village in Karatina.
The deceased was attacked and killed by a lone assailant when she was alone in her house.
According to the area assistant chief, he received a call from a member of the public who heard the commotion at the homestead and upon reaching the scene they found the lifeless body of the woman lying in a pool of blood.
The administrator further revealed that upon examining the body they realized that it had visible injuries caused by a blunt object. A bloodstained club was recovered at the scene and it is suspected that a love triangle could be the reason for the killing.
The deceased's brother told the police that he received a distress call from her informing him that her life was in danger. He rushed to the scene and found his sister had already been murdered.
Police have since identified the suspect and efforts to trace him are ongoing. The body of the deceased was moved to Karatina Level IV Hospital awaiting postmortem.
Residents called upon couples to solve their differences amicably to avoid loss of life.
