The upcoming PDP National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting on Thursday is a crucial event for the party leadership. Former PDP national chairman Prince Uche Secondus has issued a strong advisory to the party leaders ahead of this meeting.

According to Leadership News, Secondus has accused the current Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, of trying to use the PDP to remain politically relevant under the Tinubu administration. Wike is the former governor of Rivers State and is seen as a powerful figure within the PDP.

Secondus claims that Wike is deliberately trying to create an impression of a power struggle between himself and Atiku Abubakar, the PDP's 2023 presidential candidate. The former PDP chairman alleges that Wike is doing this in order to portray himself as an indispensable factor within the PDP, when in reality he is losing political clout.

Secondus has urged the PDP leadership to not be distracted by Wike's "busybody gimmicks" and instead focus on the task of restoring the party's glory. He suggests that Wike's actions are annoying President Tinubu, who is reportedly getting "fed up" with Wike's attempts to inject politics into the governance of the FCT.
