Minister of Works, Engr David Umahi conducted an inspection of various Federal Government projects in Enugu and additional states on Sunday. Upon his arrival in Enugu State, the Minister proceeded to assess the progress of the reconstruction of the collapsed New Artisan Bridge at Enugu-Port Harcourt Expressway.
Furthermore, he examined the ongoing construction of a 23-span mega twin flyover bridge at Emene in Enugu State. Umahi characterized the flyover as a significant development for the people of Enugu and neighboring states. This assessment was detailed in a statement issued by the minister's Special Adviser on Media, Mr Uchenna Orji, and disseminated to DAILY POST on Sunday.
The road, serving as a vital link to numerous suburbs within the state and neighboring states, has long been a source of concern for vehicles, many of which travel through Benue State to distant parts of Northern Nigeria and some others to areas in the South South through Cross River State.
The statement articulated, "The administration of Mr President deemed it necessary, in alignment with his agenda of fostering a robust economic revolution for a sustainable future of our nation, to erect a mega twin flyover for Enugu State that will surpass the elegance and functionality of all previously constructed flyovers in the South East region."
"Upon completion, this flyover will transform the landscape of Enugu State, stimulate commercial activities and investments, decrease accidents and security threats, enhance safety measures, and boost utilization of economic infrastructures, including the Airports in Enugu and Ebonyi States, as well as those in neighboring states." "Mr President harbors genuine intentions for Nigeria and is resolute in his commitment to overhaul the economy through the enhancement of road infrastructure."
