Moses Kuria Sends A Letter To SRC Declining The Salary Increment For President, DP MPs, & Governors

opera.com 2 days ago

Moses Kuria has sent a letter to the SRC rejecting the recent salary increment on the civil servants. The letter dated today states that the government of Kenya will not accept any increment. Instead he has challenged the commission to reduce the recurrent expenditure to 35 percent.

This comes after SRC suggested a salary increment for civil servants starting with the President and going down to the cabinet secretaries, Governor, MPs and others. The move comes at the time the government is facing a crisis where Youths rejected the Finance bill that could enable the government to collect an additional 346 billion shillings.

Here are the comments from Kenyans:

"We will visit the SRC." Ronald Kiprotich said.

"No one really cares any more what you guys in Ruto government, do or don't do ...we know you don't care." Kamau Kamau said

"Stopping the implementation isn't enough. From head of state to mca should relinquish 50% of their salary.." Karim Maiyo said.

"Hii serikali ni ya uchinga sana we will start fresh demonstrations countrywide." Alex Melly said

"Na mutupe kazi youth kwa psc portal hakuna haja mueke advert na shortlisting us but end not being given chance to serve the nation." Potric Tai said

"Good show of leadership, but there is also need to reduce the wages of the nation county officials." Denno Ke said.

"Hao watu wa SRC wako sawa ama wote vichwa kaenda mteja or it was provocation...,how can they do that when we are all united against the high cost of living hence reduction or withdrawal of all non essential stuff like those? Their motive should be investigated" Nyaberi said.

"If there's a CS that needs to be sacked ni Moses kuria hakuna kazi unafanya ni mdomo kubwa tu." Mark Mwangi said.

"Kuria, this is your moment. Resign and go back to the Kuria we knew. Fight for the people! I see a brighter future if you do this. However, if you continue, you will be chased together with Zakayo." Maina David said.

"Good intentions CS Kuria in light of present circumstances. But does the law permit you to exercise such powers?" Ochieng Chulu said.

"Hon. Moses Kuria, failing a government is a recipe for retrogression and anarchy. Pray it doesn't mature to what Gen Zs or other ill-intended political henchmen are or may be upto. Let's deal with 3 issues for now:

1. Corruption across levels of government

2. Taxation Policy and

3. Job Creation and Enterprise Development." Ochieng Richard said
