Police in Nairobi are investigating the murder of a woman whose body was found floating in the Nairobi River.
The body was found in the Bahati area, Makadara by children who were playing near the scene.
Police said the body had started to decompose and that there was a stab wound on her chest. Her hands and legs had been tied from behind. A rope was also found tied around the neck. Further reports indicate the the body had been tied together with a dead dog.
It is suspected that the woman was killed elsewhere and dumped where the body was found. The woman did not have any documents with her when the discovery was made.
The motive of the murder is yet to be known so far, but police have launched investigations into the case. The body was moved to the mortuary pending identification and autopsy.
Residents asked the police for a thorough probe saying such incidents cannot be tolerated.
