EFCC Declares Yahaya Bello Wanted

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has issued a public notice seeking information on the whereabouts of former Kogi State Governor Yahaya Bello.

According to a post on its official Facebook page, the anti-graft commission said Bello is wanted in connection with alleged economic and financial crimes amounting to N80.2 Billion.

”Anybody with information as to his whereabouts should report immediately to the Commission or the nearest Police Station,” the EFCC stated.

Former governor of Kano State, Abdullahi Ganduje, says he remains the national chairman of the All Progressives Congress, APC, following the reversal of his purported suspension by his ward executives.

DAILY POST reports that Justice A. M Liman of the Federal High Court in Kano stopped Ganduje’s suspension on Thursday.

The court also barred all the respondents and their agents from implementing the decisions reached at the executive meeting of the APC held at the Ganduje Ward of Dawakin Tofa Local Government Area on April 15 2024, pending the determination and hearing of a suit filed by Ganduje for the enforcement of his fundamental rights.


PDP Crisis: Damagum's Removal Delay Worries G-60 Lawmakers

As the National Executive Committee meeting of the Peoples Democratic Party is ongoing in Abuja, 60 opposition lawmakers in the House of Representatives seeking the removal of the party’s acting National Chairman, Umar Damagum, on Thursday, warned of the dangers of delaying the decision till August 2024.

The group’s spokesman and member representing Ideato South/Ideato North Federal Constituency of Imo State, Ikenga Ugochinyere, disclosed this in a statement issued on Thursday in Abuja, on behalf of his colleagues.

Recall that the 13 PDP governors met in Abuja late Wednesday and resolved that removing Damagum from office would not be in the interest of the party, adding that instead, the party should work towards resolving its internal wrangling in some of its state chapters.


Oba Of Benin Kicks Against Installation Of Sarkin Hausawan In Edo

The Benin Traditional Council has kicked against the planned installation of one Alhaji Danjuma Garba Binkola as the “Garkuwan Hausawan Benin” by one Alhaji Adamu Isah Adamu.

DAILY POST reports that a letter dated April 18, 2024, titled, “denunciation of plan to hold a turbaning ceremony in Benin City”, was signed by Chief Sam Igbe, Iyase of Benin Kingdom, on behalf of the Benin Traditional Council.

The letter addressed to the Edo State Director, Department of State Security, DSS, alleged that the said Alhaji Adamu Isah Adamu described himself as “His Royal Highness.
