According to report by Times of Israel, the Israel Defense Forces (IDF) Chief of Staff, Lt. Gen. Herzi Halevi, has revealed that troops have killed at least 900 terror operatives in the southern Gaza city of Rafah during the ongoing military operation.
"We count in [Hamas's] Rafah Brigade, what we saw with our eyes… over 900 dead terrorists, including commanders, at least one battalion commander, many company commanders and many operatives," Halevi stated while visiting a forward logistics base in the southern Gaza Strip.
The IDF chief emphasized that the military will continue to destroy Hamas's infrastructure in Rafah, including its extensive tunnel network. "It takes time, so this campaign is long because we do not want to leave Rafah with the infrastructure," Halevi said.
The revelation of the high number of terrorist casualties in Rafah comes amid the ongoing conflict between Israel and Hamas, which has been raging for over eight months. The Israeli military has been conducting intensive operations in the region to eliminate Hamas's capabilities and secure the safety of its citizens.
