In response to this heartbreaking occurrence, one resident has emphasized the importance of taking preventive actions to prevent similar tragedies in the future.

The resident's proposal to install protective barriers on flyovers and bridges in the state demonstrates a growing awareness of the need for enhancing public safety and addressing mental health issues. Citing a previous initiative in Lagos State aimed at curbing suicide deaths, the resident stresses the significance of proactive measures to avert future incidents.


According to Vanguard, The Resident said, “It is not enough for us all to lament this shocking incident. Government should begin to erect protections on both sides of flyovers and bridges in the state. This was how it started at the Lagoon area in Lagos State and after several cases of suicide deaths had been recorded there, I heard police operatives started patrolling the area to prevent occurrences.”
