Cristiano Ronaldo is arguably one of the best players that have ever played the game of football. However, the former Manchester United and Real Madrid goal poacher is yet to find the back of the net in the 2024 European Championship. Meanwhile, he has already made more attempts than any player in the tournament as per Stathead.

Cristiano Ronaldo

The Portuguese striker attempted a total of 12 shots in the group stage of the tournament. His five shots against Czech republic went without finding the back of the net. His first attempt in the game went of target. Three more were saved by the safe hands of the opponents' shot stopper. His header, 10 minutes into the second half was blocked.

Ronaldo, who went into Euro 2024 as the highest ever scorer in the history of the competition, made 4 more attempts against Türkiye in their second match of the championship. He was the first person to test Altay Bayındır in the game. However, the goalkeeper saved the shot. His three other tries went off target as he was constant being monitored by Turkish defenders. However, he was able register an assist in the encounter.

In his final match of Group F, the 5-time Ballon d'Or winner took 3 more shots as Portugal clashed with Georgia. The Al-Nassr made his first attempt against the Georgians via direct free kick 16 minutes into the match. However, Giorgi Mamardashvili neutralized the threat. His two other attempts either side of the break were blocked.

This makes him one of the three players that took 10 or more shots without scoring in the group stage of Euro 2024. The others are Aleksandar Mitrović (Serbia) and Romelu Lukaku (Belgium). This duo have been credited with ten attempts each. While Ronaldo and Lukaku got one assist each, Mitrovic did not set up any goal.
