A member of a robbery gang using tricycle to rob, in what is commonly known as one chance, has been arrested by men of the Enugu State Police Command while other gang members fled after they robbed a female passenger, according to the command on its X handle late on Monday night.
The command said the man, whose name was given as Edeh Chibuike, aged 44 years, was arrested by men of the Independent Layout Police Division in collaboration with some residents of the state.

His gang was said to have posed as rider and passengers in the tricycle, popularly known as Keke, lured a female passenger into the tricycle after which they robbed her of her iphone as well as Automated Teller Machine (ATM) card before pushing her out.
The alarm raised by the lady got the attention of the people in the area, who were said to have pursued them which caused their tricycle to skid off the road.
However, while others in the tricycle jumped out and fled, the people apprehended Chibuike and handed him over to the police operatives who later came to the area following a distress call received by them.
The command wrote: "The suspect confessed to the crime, stating that his criminal gang has been in the business of one chance robbery and fraud on unsuspecting victims within Enugu metropolis for some time."
The command added that he is expected to be charged to court at the conclusion of the investigation while a manhunt had been launched for the arrest of fleeing members of the gang.
