Kenyans have questioned the ministry's present leadership since the Kenyan National Examination Council released the results of the 2024 KCPE tests. Kenyans believe that the education ministry is in jeopardy and requires a strong leader to take charge.
On Sunday, Kenyans.co.ke urged Kenyans to vote for the cabinet secretary who they believe ran the education ministry better. The limited ballot included Ezekiel Mochogu, Fred Matiang'i, Amina Mohamed, and the late George Magoha. The media outlet urged Kenyans to vote for the CS they thought worked best.
Matiang'i led with 73% of the vote four hours after the poll. George Magoha came in second with 23%, while Mochogu and Amina Mohamed tied for last place with 2% each. Mochogu's leadership at the education ministry has been questioned since the day he was appointed. Many believed that the ministry would fail horribly because he lacked the traits of a diligent leader that his predecessors possessed.
