A veteran Nollywood actor and a Chieftain of the Labour Party, LP, Mr Kenneth Okonkwo, has urged the people of Edo State to vote out the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, in the state, reminding them how the incumbent Governor of the state, Godwin Obaseki, allegedly asked the Oba of Benin to appear before the court.

According to Daily Post, Mr Kenneth Okonkwo made this disclosure on Friday, June 21, 2024, during an appearance on Politics HQ on News Central TV.

Kenneth Okonkwo said: "Can you imagine Governor Obaseki asking the Oba to come and respond to summons in court?"

Speaking about his party, the Labour Party and the Chairman of his party, Julius Abure, he stated it clearly that he doesn't have anything personal against Julius Abure, noting that that the only problem is that his tenure ended, and he didn't organise a convention to pass power to the next set of leadership.

Mr Kenneth Okonkwo, had recently criticised his party, the Labour Party, LP, and the leadership of the party, claiming that he may leave the Labour Party and join the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC.

Labour Party, LP, has been embroiled in controversies, including allegations of misappropriation of funds, leadership tussles, and calls for the resignation of the party’s national chairman, Barrister Julius Abure.
