According to a report by Punch. On Friday, the Lagos State Police Command announced the elimination of nine suspects who were preparing to abduct a number of affluent people from different parts of the state.
During a parade at the command headquarters in the state's Ikeja region, State Police Public Relations Officer Benjamin Hundeyin revealed this, stating that the command had been pursuing the culprits for the previous eight months.
He clarified that two weeks ago, State Commissioner of Police Adegoke Fayoade gave the command's tactical teams instructions to start working on the information after obtaining it on their operations.
He said, “Our intelligence-gathering assets yielded very credible and actionable intelligence about a dangerous and very notorious gang of kidnappers planning to kidnap some high net-worth individuals in Lagos."
Hundeyin said two operable vehicles comprising one black Toyota 4Runner and a blue Lexus RX350 were retrieved from the suspects, saying that the investigation was underway to arrest the fleeing culprits.
