Check Out The EPL Clubs With The Biggest Spendings So Far In 2024 Summer Transfer Window

Many English Premier League (EPL) clubs bought new players within the first few weeks that the 2024 summer transfer window opened. However, only 4 of these football outfits have spent more than €50m so far. Let us take a look at these top spenders. 

The club with the biggest spendings within the period is Brighton. The Seagulls have already paid €84.5m to acquire 3 new players so far this summer. Interestingly, two of these guys are teenagers. The most expensive among them is 19-year-old Yankuba Minteh. Newcastle received €35m before allowing this right winger to go. The two other fresh recruits are Mats Wieffer and Ibrahim Osman who cost €30m and €19.5m respectively.

The next club on the list is Aston Villa with cumulative spendings of €84.2m on the acquisition of new players. The player whose transfer gulped the biggest fee is Ian Maatsen who moved from Chelsea for €44.5m. Interestingly, 2 of these purchases are left wingers. These are Samuel Iling-Junior and Lewis Dobbin who came in for fees of €14m and €11.8m respectively. The fourth guy on this list is Enzo Barrenechea (€8m).

The next two clubs on this list are domiciled in London. These are Chelsea and Tottenham with gross spendings of €63.90m and €51.25m respectively. For the Blues, the sum was spent to acquire two midfielders and one striker. These are Kiernan Dewsbury-Hall, Omari Kellyman and Marc Guiu. The fees spent to buy these guys are €35.4m, €22.5m and €6m respectively. Meanwhile, one player, Tosin Adarabioyo (a defender), also joined the club as a free agent.

In the case of Tottenham, 2 players have been purchased so far this summer. These are Archie Gray and Lucas Bergvall. These central midfielders cost €41.25m and €10m respectively. It is worthy of note that these guys are each 18 years old.
