Uzodimma Appoints 27 Administrators for LGs

Governor Hope Uzodimma of Imo State has appointed 27 Sole Administrators to oversee the affairs of the Local Government Councils until credible local government elections can be conducted in the state within the next 60 days.

As reported by PUNCH, The announcement was made in a statement by Declan Emelumba, the Commissioner for Information, Public Orientation, and Strategy of Imo State.

The appointed Sole Administrators, known as SOLADs, will be responsible for piloting the administration of their respective local governments during this transitional period.

The decision to appoint administrators is aimed at ensuring the smooth running of local government affairs until the local government elections can be held.

The list of appointed administrators includes Okoroike Chika for Isiala Mbano, Dr. Obi Emeka P for Onuimo, Acho Asiegbu for Okigwe, Obioma Ehirim for Obowo, Chief Uche Nwodu for Ehime Mbano, Chukwuma Onyema for Ihitte Uboma, Okwaraigwe Nnamdi for Oru East, and Ibekaeme Friday for Orsu.

Other appointments include Isaiah Chinedu Ezeogu for Orlu, Dr. Abiaziem Chima for Oguta, Ikenna Adikibe for Oru West, Chief Onyeaju Princewill for Ohaji/Egbema, and Chief Paul Duru for Nwangele.

Governor Uzodimma also appointed Chief Kenneth Ukah for Isu, Odunze Ajaero JP for Nkwerre, Anaemem Obikaeze for Njaba, Okechukwu Okwara for Ideato South, and Ozigbo Michael for Ideato North.

Larry Obinna Chikwe was appointed for Ahiazu Mbaise, Nwachukwu Chinedum A for Ezinihitte Mbaise, Nwanegwo Ifunanya for Mbaitoli, and Justice Nzeh for Ikeduru.

Chief Nnamdi Anyanwu was appointed for Aboh Mbaise, Kizito Onuoha for Ngor Okpala, Nwankwo Victor for Owerri West, Chidiebere Emeribe for Owerri Municipal, and Lucky Abaronye for Owerri North.

The Commissioner for Information emphasized that the appointments were effective immediately.

This marks the third time that Governor Uzodimma has appointed Sole Administrators to oversee the local government councils. He assured the public that the Imo State Independent Electoral Commission (ISIEC) would conduct the local government elections once it is reconstituted.

However, until the reconstitution of ISIEC, the timeline for holding the elections remains uncertain.
