Renowned elder statesman Edwin Clark has voiced his disapproval of the actions taken by former Rivers State Governor Nyesom Wike, a notable member of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), citing their impact on the party.

According to a recent report from Tribune, Edwin Clark raised doubts about Nyesom Wike's allegiance to the PDP, alleging his involvement in the defection of 27 Rivers lawmakers to the APC. Clark criticized Wike for allegedly collaborating with APC members to establish PDP caretaker committees in Rivers State's local government areas, which he believes undermines the party's credibility. He stressed the importance of Wike making a clear choice between the PDP and the APC instead of attempting to straddle both sides.

Chief Clark also admonished the PDP's acting National Chairman, Damagun, for his perceived inaction regarding the defection of the lawmakers and accused him of colluding with Wike to undermine the party's interests.

In Chief Clark's words: "Mr. Wike can't eat his cake and have it, he is either a PDP man or an APC man; he must be called to order"
