Even for the last few months that she was in the political cold, Milicent Omanga remained a key ally and defender of President William Ruto.
The former Nominated Senator is one of President Ruto's strongest defenders.
Nominated to the Senate in 2017 after her failed bid to be elected as Nairobi Women Representative, Omanga would immediately become a key ally of Dr Ruto especially in the run up to the 2022 general election.
During the 2022 general election, she unsuccessfully ran for the Nairobi County Women Representative position on a UDA party ticket but lost to ODM's Esther Passaris.
But being a key ally of Dr Ruto, he was appointed as the Interior ministry Chief Administrative Secretary. However, a few months later, the CAS position was declared unconstitutional by the High Court. And Omanga became one of the biggest casualties.
But following the recent piece of legislation by the National Assembly, the Chief Administrative Secretary position was entrenched into the law.
The legislation has since been signed into law by President Ruto.
Though the law was signed to create the CAS position, Omanga is among the key allies of the President who are still languishing in the cold.
On Saturday, in her Facebook page, Omanga decided to set the record straight, saying that she was not in government after coming under sharp attack from a section of Kenyans.
" I need to clear a misconception. I Millicent Omanga neither work for the government of Kenya nor am I a tenderpreneuer in this government. I'm a private person doing private business. Isitoshe, I've never benefited from this government either in cash or kind. Wanted to make this clear!", She said in a Facebook post.
