Governor Siminalayi Fubara has been publicly urged by Hilda Dokubo, the party's chairman, to join the Labor Party (LP) in Rivers State if he is unsatisfied with his current political setting.
This offer came in the wake of increased political unrest and internal conflicts within Rivers State's People's Democratic Party (PDP).
Vanguard reported that Hilda Dokubo emphasized that Governor Fubara has the right to choose his political affiliation, saying, "The Governor is a Nigerian citizen. He has every right to go wherever he wants to go."
"Whether he wants to come to our party or somewhere else, it is his inalienable choice."
She said that Governor Fubara has to think about relocating to a more accommodating political setting if he finds himself in an adverse circumstance.
She further said, "If he feels he is in a toxic situation, he should take a walk. Anywhere the governor chooses to go, Rivers’ people will go with him. They will support him. If he comes to my party, we will gladly welcome him."
