The Omoluabi Progressives, a caucus within the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Osun State, has received new members during its monthly meeting, according to reports from The PUNCH.

The caucus is backed by ex-Osun State Governor, Rauf Aregbesola.

Addressing the new entrants, Aregbesola urged them to return to their various wards and mobilize more members into the group.

According to a statement by the caucus spokesperson, Oluwaseun Abosede, Aregbesola described the new members as "politicians with value and uncommon grit."

Aregbesola expressed his conviction that the Omoluabi Caucus is on the right track to achieve its desired political goals.

"I want you all to return home and work more in mobilising political eggheads and grassroots politicians to the fold," he said.

"The essence of Omoluabi is embedded in our character, competence, and integrity. That is what we should all focus on doing."

The former Osun governor further called on the new members to work hand-in-hand to accommodate diverse interests and make the caucus more vibrant.

"I am convinced that we are on the right track. With God on our side, we will reach the promised land," Aregbesola assured.

Former Speaker of the Osun House of Assembly, Dr. Najeem Salaam, also addressed the members, urging them not to relent in pursuing the caucus' agenda. He called on the stakeholders to further raise the bar in canvassing the electorate to join the Omoluabi caucus.

The Caucus Chairman, Azeez Adesiji, lauded the members for their large turnout for the membership registration drive.

He assured the new members of fairness and admonished them to step up their mobilization strategies, which he believes will further impact the realization of the Omoluabi Progressives' vision to reclaim the state in 2026.
