Former French and Arsenal midfielder William Gallas has identified Bayern Munich’s Joshua Kimmich as the ideal addition to bolster Arsenal's squad for next season, according to Soccernet.ng.

Last summer, Gunners boss Mikel Arteta spent £200 million to acquire three talented stars: Kai Havertz, Declan Rice, and Jurrien Timber. These players have significantly enhanced the team's overall performance. Havertz, originally an attacking midfielder, has often been deployed as a striker due to Gabriel Jesus’s injury problems. Declan Rice has dominated the midfield, forming strong partnerships with Martin Odegaard, Jorginho, and Thomas Partey.

With Thomas Partey set to leave the Emirates Stadium in the summer, Arsenal is on the lookout for a suitable replacement, and Kimmich appears to be on their radar. The 29-year-old German midfielder recorded six goals and one assist in 28 games for Bayern Munich last season and has expressed interest in moving to England, despite his contract with Bayern running until 2025.

According to Gallas, the German skipper could form an excellent partnership with Declan Rice and be exactly what Mikel Arteta needs to enhance Arsenal’s status as serious contenders in the English Premier League.

"Joshua Kimmich is the perfect replacement for Thomas Partey. He has the quality and experience to add a lot to Arsenal. He can play in midfield and also right back—him in a midfield with Rice could be something special for Arsenal,” Gallas said.

Currently, Kimmich is participating in the Euro 2024 competition with Germany. In their recent 1-1 draw against Switzerland, he completed 61 passes over the full 90 minutes, showcasing his impressive abilities.
