According to Vanguard, in a significant development, three workers of the Lebanese-owned Fouani Company, representing LG and Hisense products, have been apprehended by the Lagos State Police over their suspected involvement in the kidnapping of four Lebanese nationals. The abduction occurred while the victims were sailing from Apapa to Victoria Island last month.

Police sources disclosed that among those arrested are a company driver and other employees, following thorough investigations into the incident. The victims were rescued at Orogbo Iddo area by the Marine police with assistance from the Nigerian Navy.

Initial hurdles, including reluctance from families and the Lebanese community to involve the police, were overcome by detectives from Commissioner of Police Adegoke Fayoade’s special squad. Despite a ransom payment of close to $1.5 million, the victims were eventually released and safely returned to their Banana Island residence.

The Commissioner of Police promptly instructed his team to apprehend the fleeing kidnappers, leading to the successful identification of insiders within the company involved in the operation. The arrested suspects have reportedly provided detailed information on previous operations conducted both within and outside the company.

Further investigations are ongoing, with additional arrests expected before the suspects are charged to court.
