According to Kenneth Okonkwo, a Nigerian lawyer who is also one of the chieftains of the Labour Party (LP), some of the problems that are now hurting the country were handed down from one administration to another.

The comment in question was included in a report that was distributed by Sunday Sun.

It was said by Kenneth Okonkwo in his study titled "Nigeria: Nation In Distress" that the administration of Olusegun Obasanjo, who had previously served as President of Nigeria, was the source of some of the problems that have been plaguing the nation.

A statement made by the chieftain of the Labour Party indicated that the corruption that has been plaguing the Nigerian system for a considerable amount of time has reached its peak under the leadership of President Bola Ahmed Tinubu.

In his statement, Kenneth Okonkwo noted that the economy of Nigeria, the security of the country, and the education system are all in a condition of disrepair under the government of President Tinubu.

He said that the government had taken control of the Independent National Electoral Commission, often known as INEC, as well as the judicial system.

The following is what Kenneth Okonkwo had to say:

"It is essential to keep in mind that the deterioration in Nigeria did not begin with Tinubu's administration; yet, it seems to be reaching its pinnacle during his term. Since 1999, Obasanjo has been responsible for laying the groundwork for the upcoming elections that are now being held in the Fourth Republic.

"His elections in 2003 and 2007 were so flawed that the beneficiary of Obasanjo’s 2007 presidential election, President Umaru Yar’Adua, who succeeded Obasanjo, admitted publicly that the election that brought him to power was flawed.".
