Court Orders EFCC To Serve Bello N80bn Fraud Charges

Justice Emeka Nwite of the Federal High Court in Abuja has ordered that the charges on alleged N80 billion fraud filed by the Federal Government against former governor of Kogi State, Yahaya Adoza Bello, be served through his lawyer, Abdulwahab Mohammed.

The Judge issued the order on Tuesday while delivering a ruling in an application filed by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, for substituted service on Bello.

Lead counsel to the anti-graft agency, Kemi Pinheiro, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, argued the application.

Atiku Visits Ningi, Says N'Assembly Must Resist Oppressive Govts

Former Vice President Atiku Abubakar has thrown his weight behind the suspended Senator representing Bauchi Central, Abdul Ningi following his suspension from the Senate over allegations of budget padding in the National Assembly.

Abubakar, during a solidarity visit to Ningi’s residence on Monday, equally cautioned the Red Chamber to “not become a tool in the hands of oppressive governments.”

Ningi was suspended for three months by the Senate on March 12, 2024.


APC Sets Nomination Fees For LG Elections In Katsina

The Katsina State Working Committee of the All Progressives Congress, APC, has announced the official nomination fees for aspirants vying for the position of local government chairman and councillors in the forthcoming elections.

The State Deputy Chairman of the APC, Alhaji Bala Abu Musawa, during a press briefing held at the Katsina Government House Banquet Hall, confirmed that the nomination fee for the local government chairmanship position has been set at N5 million.


Again, Rival Cult Groups Clash, Kill Two In Ogun

Two persons have been reportedly killed on Sunday in a cult clash in Abeokuta, Ogun State capital.

The victims, allegedly members of the Eiye and Aye confraternity groups were reported to have been shot dead in different areas of the metropolis.

It was gathered that the killing was a retaliation to the death of Olumide Ifeoluwa, a popular area boy and a member of the Aye confraternity, who was shot dead by suspected members of Eiye cult group three weeks ago.
