Prophet Williams Onuoha, of the Galilie Christian Centre in Lagos State, drew parallels between President Tinubu's activism during the Babangida and Abacha eras, fighting for democracy and good governance, and Nnamdi Kanu's current struggle. Reminding people of the acclaim President Tinubu received for his efforts, he appealed directly to the president to release Kanu, recognizing him as a fellow activist in the quest for positive change.
According to what Prophet Williams Onuoha said in the report by Vanguard News, "We all remember Tinubu’s fight against bad governance during the Babangida and Abacha eras. Tinubu fought for democracy and good governance, and we all applauded him. There are lots of similarities between his fight and Kanu’s. Mr. President, please release a fellow activist. As we speak, there are so many killings in Igbo land. People are being killed every day. The insecurity is so unprecedented. This is not the right time to be a youth in the East. That is why I am personally calling on Mr. President to release him unconditionally. We need peace in the Southeast. No good thing comes out of a crisis. Only bad memories."
