If Fubara Had Obeyed The COA's Decision, He Wouldn't Have Announced The LG Chair Tenure Expiration

Rivers State is once again embroiled in political turmoil, with Chibike Ikenga, the Publicity Secretary of the APC Caretaker Committee in Rivers State, pointing the finger at Governor Fubara for his alleged impatience and disregard for judicial orders. In a video released by TVC, Ikenga blamed Governor Fubara's actions for igniting a second wave of crises in the state.

Ikenga argued that Governor Fubara’s failure to comply with the Court of Appeal's directive to maintain the status quo has exacerbated the situation in Rivers State. He claimed that the governor’s premature actions, particularly the announcement of a caretaker committee, have disrupted peace and stability in the region.

"I think it is unfortunate that after the court ordered the maintenance of the status quo, the governor acted impatiently and made decisions that disrupted peace, leading to another round of crisis in Rivers State," Ikenga stated. "If the governor had obeyed the Court of Appeal's decision, he wouldn't have proceeded to announce the expiration of the tenure of local government chairmen. Had he respected the Court of Appeal, he wouldn't have appointed a caretaker committee, which is currently a matter before the court. These are the problems we have observed."
