Manchester City crusied to a 4-0 victory over Brighton to continue their impressive Premier League form.

De Bruyne gave the visitors the lead with a sublime header - the first he has scored in the Premier League - and Foden then added a second via a free-kick Brighton argued should not have been awarded.

Foden doubled his tally after some poor play at the back from Brighton, who conceded a fourth just after the hour mark through Alvarez's simple finish after good work from two-assist Walker.

Albion had three penalty appeals rejected in the second half, the biggest shout being Gvardiol's challenge on Joao Pedro, but were easily second best on the day as they finished with a xG of 0.49 to to their opponents' 1.29.

City, who are now one point behind leaders Arsenal with a game in hand, travel to Nottingham Forest on Sunday. Brighton are at Bournemouth the same day.

After the completion of the match, Manchester City's attacker, Phil Foden was named the man of the match after his brilliant performance against Brighton, according to the Premier League.

The England international netted two goal to help the Manchester based outfit close in on the Gunners in the race for the title.
