Peter Obi, the presidential candidate for the Labour Party (LP) in the 2023 election, has given his take on the current hardships existing in Nigeria.
Several citizens of Nigeria have taken to the streets to express their grievances and dissatisfaction regarding the unbearable hike in the prices of commodities.
However, the Labour Party flagbearer made reference to the policies implemented by the Bola Tinubu administration.
Recall that the House of Representatives Committee on National Security and Intelligence has requested the purchase of new aeroplanes for the use of President Bola Tinubu and Vice President Kashim Shettima.
In reaction to this development, Obi stated that the President and Vice President do not need new aircraft.
He also cited the need for the federal government to prioritise the affairs and well-being of Nigerian citizens rather than implementing needless policies.
In his words, "The President and Vice President do not need new aircraft, and the national anthem change is an indulgence at a time when the masses are grappling with poverty and economic hardship."
