Police rescue kidnapped farmer in Edo

According to Daily Post, The Edo State Police Command successfully rescued two kidnapped victims in operations conducted by operatives of the Irrua Divisional Headquarters in Esan Central Local Government Area at Ugbegun and Usugbenu forests.

Commissioner of Police Funsho Adegboye disclosed this to journalists in Benin City, identifying the rescued individuals as Osemuanhu Iluobe and 47-year-old Emmanuel Ehizuenlen Oziegbe.

According to Adegboye, Osemuanhu Iluobe, a farmer, was abducted alongside another individual named Emuanta from their farm in Ugbegun Forest. While Iluobe was rescued during the operation, Emuanta remains in captivity.

Upon receiving reports of the abduction, operatives of the Irrua Division mobilized and conducted extensive bush combing operations, resulting in the successful rescue of Osemuanhu Iluobe. Efforts are ongoing to secure the release of Emuanta and apprehend the suspects involved.

Additionally, Adegboye reported the rescue of Emmanuel Ehizuenlen Oziegbe by police operatives, who collaborated with local vigilante groups and hunters in intensive bush combing efforts. Oziegbe was rescued unharmed, and the tools used to restrain him were recovered.

The Commissioner assured the public that the police are actively pursuing the fleeing suspects to ensure justice is served.
