Only PDP NEC can suspend me —Ayu

The National Chairman of the Peoples Democratic Party, Iyorchia Ayu, has said that the PDP constitution expressly prohibits any organ of the party or executive committee at ward, state or national level to take any disciplinary measure against any member of the National Executive Committee, therefore only the NEC can suspend him.

Ayu also stated that the purported announcement of his suspension is only mischief, drama and propaganda, adding that it was an exercise in futility that is derivable from gross “ignorance and desperation.”

Obasanjo’s father not fully Yoruba, might be Igbo man – Fani-Kayode

Former Aviation Minister, Femi Fani-Kayode has expressed the belief that ex-President Olusegun Obasanjo’s father might not be a Yoruba man.

Fani-Kayode said Obasanjo’s ‘silence’ over a recent comment by Igbo businessman Emmanuel Iwuanyanwu that Yoruba people are “political rascals,” was an indication that the former president’s father was an Igbo man, not Yoruba.

Iwuanyanwu said Igbo people had invested so much in Nigeria and were not going to yield to the pressure of people asking them to leave.

BREAKING: INEC announces date for Kebbi, Adamawa inconclusive election

The Independent National Electoral Commission has announced that the supplementary governorship elections in Kebbi and Adamawa states will be held on April 15.

INEC made this known in a tweet on Monday

Recall that INEC had declared the governorship elections of March 18 in both states as inconclusive.

The tweet reads, “Arising from its meeting held today, the Independent National Electoral Commission has decided that all outstanding Governorship, National and State Assembly supplementary elections will take place on Saturday 15th April 2023.”

Angry women protest naked at US Embassy over 2023 election

Some aggrieved women on Monday protested half naked in front of the United States Embassy in Abuja over the outcome of the 2023 presidential election.

The women, who are members of the Free Nigeria Movement, were at the US Embassy to report the alleged fraud that happened during the 2023 polls.

The protesters, who were armed with various placards, called on the US Government to place a visa ban on the instigators of violence during the poll.
