According to a report by This Day, Vice-President Kashim Shettima emphasized the challenging task facing the current government as it maneuvers through economic storms inherited from the previous administration.

''Whoever Succeeded Buhari Would Have Made Tinubu’s Choices or Let Nigeria Implode'', says Vice President.

Speaking at the 2nd Chronicle Roundtable in Abuja, organized by 21st Century Media Services, Shettima urged Nigerians to exercise patience as the Tinubu-led government implements necessary reforms to revive the economy.

Shettima highlighted the inevitability of removing fuel subsidies, citing the burden it placed on the nation's resources.

He stressed that this decision was crucial to ending the practice of subsidizing fuel consumption not only in Nigeria but across the West African subregion.

Acknowledging the sacrifices required, Shettima expressed optimism that positive changes would soon manifest across various economic indicators, including inflation, GDP growth, poverty reduction, and food security.

He assured Nigerians that the government's initiatives in sectors like oil and gas, creative arts, housing, and digital technology would yield significant dividends in the near future.

Addressing concerns about the removal of fuel subsidies, Shettima suggested the necessity of the decision, noting that it was not included in the previous administration's budget.

Despite the tough road ahead, Shettima urged collective sacrifice and patience, emphasizing the need for unity in overcoming the nation's economic woes.

He also reiterated the government's commitment to implementing effective policies and initiatives aimed at fostering sustainable growth and development.
