I'll Advise Tinubu To Be Careful Not To Make The Mistakes Of Buhari - Shehu Sani

Shehu Sani, the former Nigerian senator from the Kaduna State Central Senatorial District, released a statement during a Channels Television interview.

He disclosed that despite the shortcomings of service chiefs under the former President Muhammadu Buhari's government, they were kept in their positions. He said that by keeping them in office, Buhari's government ruined the lives of people who had preceded them.

Punch reported that Shehu Sani said, "I will advise President Tinubu to be careful not to make the mistakes of President Buhari, and I believe he is experienced enough to understand this."

"Even if there was a removal, it takes three to four months to replace a minister. That was the way the country was governed. Under Buhari, we have seen nepotism at its peak, where people were appointed into office and left there even if they did nothing."

"Service chiefs were retained in office despite their failures, and by retaining them, you destroyed the careers of those behind them. For many years, many officers were retired to appoint one person."

Sani also mentioned that many ministers appointed under Buhari's government held their positions for a total of eight years. He said they supported Buhari during both of his terms in office, both of which were marked by stagnation in Nigeria.
