Two more Rivers State commissioners loyal to the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, FCT, Nyesom Wike, have dumped the State Executive Council.
The Commissioner for Social Welfare, Inime Aguma and Jacobson Nbina, Commissioner for Transport, have all tendered their resignation letters to the state government.
Their resignations were contained in separate letters addressed to the governor, Siminalayi Fubara, through the Office of the Secretary to the Rivers State Government.
As at the time of filing this report, about five commissioners have notified Fubara of their decisions to quit the government following the lingering political crisis rocking the state.
DAILY POST earlier reported that the Commissioner for Education, Professor Prince Chinedu Mmom, Commissioner for Housing, Gift Worlu and the Commissioner for Environment, Austen Ben-Chioma, on Wednesday announced their resignations.

President Bola Tinubu has reassured investors in the energy sector of his administration’s resolve to further enhance the business environment and ensure investment convenience.
The President gave the assurance while inaugurating three milestone projects, which are the expanded AHL Gas Processing Plant; the ANOH Gas Processing Plant, and the 23.3km ANOH to Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) Custody Transfer Metering Station Gas Pipeline, on Wednesday.
During the virtual inauguration of the projects at the State House, President Tinubu also assured citizens that his administration is stepping up its coordination of other landmark projects and initiatives that will ensure the earliest realization of gas-fueled prosperity in the country.
The President noted that the projects are fully in line with the Decade of Gas Initiative and his government’s vision to grow value from the nation’s abundant gas assets while concurrently eliminating gas flaring and accelerating industrialization.

The National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), on Wednesday warned the 2024 Hajj pilgrims against carrying any prohibited items into Saudi Arabia.
The Executive Chairman of NAHCON, Malam Jalal Arabi, issued the warning at the inauguration of the 2024 National Hajj operations, held at the Sir Ahmadu Bello International Airport, Birnin Kebbi, Kebbi State.Arabi also emphasised the need for the pilgrims to utilise the special privilege they have to serve Allah and avoid being distracted.

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission, EFCC, has pledged to conduct a thorough investigation into the corruption allegations against the Minister of State for Defence, Bello Matawalle.
The spokesman of the anti-graft agency, Dele Oyewale, gave this assurance in a statement on Wednesday during an interface at the EFCC headquarters in Abuja between the EFCC and members of the Tinubu Youth and Women Network, a political pressure group that has been advocating for an investigation into Matawalle’s alleged corruption.
Matawalle is being investigated over allegations of mismanagement of public funds and resources during his tenure as the Governor of Zamfara State from 2019 to 2023.
