DP Gachagua Sends This Message To Ruto Hours After Missing Sister's Burial In Laikipia- Details

Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has sent a message to President William Ruto, just hours after lying his eldest sister, Leah Wangari to rest.

In a Facebook post, the second in command said that he is grateful to leaders, led but President William Ruto who he said mourned with them at the moment they were going through the pain of losing a family member.

The DP also thanked people in Nyeri and Laikipia counties, asking them to continue praying for their family during the difficult moment.

"We are grateful to the leaders, who have mourned with us, led by our President H.E William Samoei Ruto, and the People within and without Laikipia and Nyeri Counties. We request that you continue praying for us at this difficult moment. 

Gachagua described his eldest sister as a great woman who made remarkable strides in ensuring the community and society moved on. He added that as a teacher, her sister was resourceful both the Gatata and Gachagua families, adding that Mirera village in Nanyuki will miss her counsel.

"Today, we have laid to rest our eldest Sister Leah Wangari Muriuki, a great woman of remarkable record in the community and society. 

"A teacher and highly resourceful mentor, the Gachagua Family, the Gatata Family and the community at Mirera in Nanyuki will miss her wise counsel." He added

Questions were raised after President William Ruto and his close ally skipped this event that was attended by governor's from Mt Kenya region, senators, members of parliament and MCAs from Nyeri and Laikipia counties.

The meeting was attended by Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi, Governors Joshua Irungu, Kiarie Badilisha (Nyandarua), Mutahi Kahiga (Nyeri), Deputy Governors Reuben Kamuri (Laikipia), Deputy Governor David Kinaniri (Nyeri) amongst other leaders.
