Dele Momodu, the leader of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), has expressed concern about how the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is handling the case of Yahaya Bello, the former governor of Kogi State.

According to a Punch story from Sunday, Momodu demanded that Ola Olukoyede, the EFCC Chairman, carry out his obligations with utmost care and attention.

Yahaya Bello has lately made headlines due to the EFCC's attempt to arrest him for allegedly embezzling money while in government.

During a press briefing, Olukoyede said that before leaving office, Yahaya Bello withdrew money from the Kogi State Government, swapped it at the Bureau De Change, and used it to pay his children's school tuition.

It should be noted that Yahaya Bello's media office issued a statement denying that the former governor paid $720,000 for his children's school fees, as claimed by the EFCC Chairman.

Dele Momodu responded to the incident, saying that before reading the report, he was wondering why someone paid such a large sum of money, but when he looked into it, he discovered it was not the case.

He said this in an Instagram Live Show.

In his words, "I mean, I looked at the issue of school fees. Before I read, I was like, how can somebody pay that kind of money? Then, when I read, it was something else I was seeing. They said he paid upfront just before he left the government, and when I checked, that was not what happened. How can you try people before you go and examine the facts?"
