A Former PDP Senator representing Rivers South East, Senator Olaka Nwogu speaking on the Rivers State crisis has alleged that the appeal Court had only overturned the State High Court, Justice Wale's ruling that Honourable Martin's Amaewhule should not paraded himself as the speaker.

He explained that the appeal Court determined that Justice Wale's Court lacked the jurisdiction to make such a ruling. He identified that consequently all decisions made by Justice Wale's Court were declared null and void. He stressed the simplicity of this ruling, asserting that no further interpretation was necessary.

He said in an interview with Arise TV, ''You need to understand the sequence of things in this matter. Some people went to Court before Justice Wale to say Amaewhule is acting as Speaker and that he should not. Justice Wale said Amaewhule should not parade as speaker but the appeal Court has quashed that.

And they said Wale's Court did not have jurisdiction. So every decision taken by Justice Wale's Court is a nullity. It is as simple as that, there is no further interpretation. There was no other way the Court could tell you that we hereby ask you to disregard everything that Justice Wale said.''

He further stated that the Pro Fubara's lawmakers had approached the Court while Amaewhule was still the legal speaker of the house, he said, ''The State of things before they approached the Court was that Amaewhule was still in session as speaker. Can we just stick to what the Court has said so far? The appeal Court is the Court of law that all of us was waiting for to give clarity on this matter. And what is clear to us now is that the appeal for has laid to rest whether the order on which Oko-Jumbo was carrying exist under the law.''
