Travelers kidnapped on the Sagamu Ijebu Ode expressway are freed

The Ogun State Police Command reported on Wednesday that four abducted travelers on the Sagamu-Ijebu-Ode expressway had been successfully rescued.

According to SP Omolola Odutola, the spokesperson for the state command, the anti-kidnapping team of the state police command carried out the rescue operation along Ogere axis of the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway.

The rescued individuals included one Mr. Ola and three Indian nationals, one of whom is identified as Pujan while the names of the other two are yet to be disclosed. Efforts are currently underway to apprehend the perpetrators who are still at large.

The Commissioner of Police, Abiodun Alamutu, directed the anti-kidnapping unit to initiate a manhunt for the criminals who abducted travelers.

The gunmen ambushed the travelers between the Sagamu Area Command of the Nigeria Police and Ilisan township. According to Wemmy Osude, Chairman of Ilisan Development Council, the assailants also took additional victims into the nearby bush.
