According to the report from the Vanguard, a resident of the Tundun-Fulani area of Bwari Area Council in Abuja, expressed a deep sense of vulnerability during a kidnapping incident that lasted over an hour, emphasizing the lack of law enforcement presence to deter or engage the perpetrators.

He recounted his futile attempts to reach the police, relying on his neighbor who had already contacted the authorities, and expressed frustration over the delayed response despite repeated calls.

He highlighted the distressing reality of being left to wait for help that never arrived until the kidnappers fled the scene on their own accord, raising concerns about the effectiveness and reliability of the local security forces.

He said, "We felt so helpless because the kidnappers operated for over an hour, but there was no police or army to challenge them. I called my neighbour when the shooting started and he said he had already called the police. We waited for them to show up for 20 minutes and when we didn’t hear sounds of sirens, we called again but they kept telling us they were on their way. We never saw them until the kidnappers left on their own."
