Tinubu Reelected As ECOWAS Chairman

President Bola Tinubu has been reelected as the chairman of the Economic Community of West African States (ECOWAS).
Tinubu was reelected as the chairman of the economic bloc on Tuesday during the 65th ordinary session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government held at the presidential villa in Abuja.
Tinubu was first elected in July 2023 at the 63rd ordinary session of the ECOWAS Authority of Heads of State and Government in Bissau, the capital city of the Republic of Guinea-Bissau.

Reps Committee Threatens To Arrest NIMASA DG

The House of Representatives Committee on Public Petitions has threatened to order the arrest of the Director-General of the Nigerian Maritime Safety and Administration Agency (NIMASA), Dayo Mobereola, if he fails to appear before the Committee on Wednesday, July 17.
The committee is investigating a petition against the agency by Abade-Toru Manga Community Development Initiative.
In the petition addressed to the Speaker of the House, the petitioners alleged that NIMASA failed to establish educational and skills acquisition projects in the coastal communities as part of its Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR).
Some Agreement Will Protect Rule Of Law, Good Governance- Nigerian Govt

The Nigerian Government has declared that the agreement it signed as a member of the Organisation of the African, Caribbean and Pacific States, OACPS, will be of enormous benefit to the country.
The agreement was signed at the OACPS Secretariat in Brussels, Belgium on June 28, 2024.
DAILY POST recalls that the Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, and his counterpart, the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Atiku Bagudu, had at a press conference on Saturday dispelled claims that the agreement would promote LGBTQ.

The Council of Imams and Ulama, Kaduna State has expressed its unwavering support for the Sultan of Sokoto, Sa’ad Abubakar, the revered symbol of Islam in Nigeria.
The council’s Secretary, Dr Yusuf Arrigasiyyu, made this declaration at a press briefing on Sunday in Kaduna.
“We stand in solidarity with His Eminence, the Sultan of Sokoto and criticise any attempt to degrade or undermine the esteemed office.
