During an appearance on JKLive, Defence CS Aden Duale praised President William Ruto as a dedicated leader who is striving to reform the nation. Duale highlighted Ruto's work ethic, noting that he works diligently from 6 am to midnight and does not indulge in drinking.
According to Duale, excessive drinking among leaders impairs their ability to govern effectively. He also addressed critics calling for Ruto's removal, stating they have yet to accept his authority as head of state.
Kenyans have made it clear in response to Duale's remarks that they would rather be led by a drunkard who knows how to perform his duties than by a Christian who pretends to be holy but lies 24/7 without demonstrating any accomplishments.
Kenyans now argue that during the past regimes of former presidents Uhuru Kenyatta and Mwai Kibaki, who were known alcoholics, the cost of living was lower and healthcare services were better compared to Ruto's current regime. Despite Ruto claiming not to drink and working late into the night, there is little to show for his actions. As they say, "Actions speak louder than words."
They argue that both former President Moi and now Ruto's regime are the worst because they pretend to be sober. Kenyans are now arguing that if drunkards can perform well, then it means even Ruto should start drinking.
