Governor Sheriff Oborevwori, a chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party noted that the road represents more than a transportation route, as it symbolises connection, progress, development, and economic growth of the impacted communities.

Delta Governor, Sheriff Oborevwori stated on his verified Facebook page; "As a testament to our commitment to infrastructural development as captured in the MORE Agenda and my promise to complete inherited on-going projects from the immediate past administration, today, His Excellency Senator Ademola Nurudeen Jackson Adeleke inaugurated the Okpanam/Ibusa Bypass Road with accompanying drainages."
He added; "This road represents more than a transportation route, it symbolises connection, progress, development, and economic growth of the impacted communities."

He stated further; "At the event , I urged contestants for the forthcoming Local Government elections to uphold the tenets of democracy and play by the rules and be tolerant of divergent views. The fact remains that it is only under a peaceful atmosphere that government can Chanel all available resources for sustainable development."
