It has been reported by the Tribune that Senator Diket Plang, who is the chairman of the Senate Committee on Labour, Employment, and Productivity, has expressed his concern regarding the increasing insecurity in Plateau State and other regions of Nigeria. He has identified this insecurity as a threat to the social and political stability of the country.

He cautions against the possibility that certain groups may take advantage of these difficulties in order to achieve dominance and power. They will do so with the intention of undoing the work that has been accomplished in decolonizing the country and re-establishing systems of dominance and subjection once more.

Nevertheless, he provides reassurance that the people of Plateau State and Nigeria are alert and vigilant and that they are resolved to reject any attempts to revert to a colonial-like framework that would undermine their sovereignty and rights.

He said, "Due to the insecurity in Plateau Central, Plateau State at large, and several other parts of this country, there are people who feel they have something they would like to dominate. Some people think that the time has come for every constituent to take their share. They desire to bring us back to colonizing each other. But I want to assure you that with the sensitivity and high level of awareness among our people, we will not go back to those days of colonialization."
