According to reports from Vanguard, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has issued a stern warning to security agencies operating in the state, urging them to strictly focus on their primary responsibilities and refrain from interfering in matters beyond their designated roles.

The governor, speaking during the 15th weekly meeting of the Kano State Executive Council held at the Government House, emphasized the importance of security agencies prioritizing the safeguarding of lives and properties of citizens.

Governor Yusuf's warning follows a recent surge in thuggery and violence involving "Yan Daba" (street gangs) in Kano, prompting concerns about the effectiveness of security measures.

He affirmed that the government will not stand idly by while criminal elements disrupt the peace and tranquility of the state.

In addition, Governor Yusuf cautioned judges against the premature release of arrested thugs, highlighting the threat they pose to the wellbeing of Kano residents.

He stressed the critical need for timely and equitable dispensing of justice to address the growing concerns over criminal activity.
