North Is Bewildered As To Why Obi Has Shifted His Focus From His Historical Support Bases- Okechukwu

On 16th May, 2024 the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo in a statement released by the Secretary General of the group, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro while reacting to the recent visit of the Presidential Candidate from the Labour Party (LP) of the just concluded General Election, Peter Obi to the former Vice President of Nigeria, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar emphasized that the good people of the Northern parts of the country were bewildered as to why Peter Obi has shifted his focus from his historical support bases, redirecting his efforts towards soliciting acceptance in the Northwest and Northeastern parts of the country.

According to THISDAYLIVE, the Secretary General of the apex Igbo socio-cultural organization, Ohanaeze Ndigbo, Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro said "Secondly, questions abound concerning the substantive benefits that the North stands to gain from Mr. Obi’s self-reliant and self-assured political approach, especially when contrasted with the impactful empowerment endeavors undertaken by figures like President Tinubu and former Vice-President Atiku Abubakar. Thirdly, the North is bewildered as to why Mr. Obi has shifted his focus from his historical support bases such as the Southeast, Middle Belt, and Niger Delta regions, redirecting his efforts towards soliciting acceptance in the Northwest and Northeast areas."

Mazi Okechukwu Isiguzoro added the recent political maneuvers of the Presidential Candidate from the Labour Party (LP) of the just concluded General Election, Mr. Peter Obi, have stirred both surprise and scrutiny among the good citizens of Nigeria and the Ndigbo.
