Caretaker Chairman of the APC in Rivers State, Tony Okocha, shared his perspective on Fubara's intention to probe past administration. Speaking during an interview with TVC News, Tony Okocha, Caretaker Chairman of the APC in Rivers State, elaborated on the process and historical context of these probes.

"It has happened before. It's the system in Rivers State. Amaechi probed Odili, Odili was found guilty, a white paper was produced, Odili went to Court and stopped it. The scenario also happened when Wike probed Amaechi and found him guilty. He explained

According to him, Governor Fubara’s decision to set up a panel to investigate the actions of his predecessor aligns with this established pattern.

The history of probes in Rivers State dates back to when former Governor Rotimi Amaechi investigated the administration of Dr. Peter Odili. The probe concluded with a white paper that found Odili guilty of several charges. However, Odili successfully challenged the findings in court, halting the implementation of the white paper's recommendations.

Similarly, Governor Nyesom Wike, upon assuming office, instituted a probe into Amaechi’s administration. This probe also resulted in a guilty verdict, which signifies a cyclical pattern of accountability that seems ingrained in the political fabric of Rivers State.

Governor Fubara’s initiative is seen as a continuation of this practice, reinforcing the notion that each administration must account for its tenure.

You're the one to set up the panel, you have your handouts to give to them. It has happened before. It's the system in Rivers State. Amaechi probed Odili, Odili was found guilty, a white paper was produced, Odili went to Court and stopped it. The scenario also happened when Wike probed Amaechi and found him guilty. So that's it because he who plays the piper dictates the tune" Tony Okocha said
