According to a report by Punch. Benneth Igweh, the Commissioner of Police for the Federal Capital Territory, has issued an order to crack down on cars driving around the nation's capital with just one or no license plate.

In addition, he oversaw the detainees' arrest and prosecution.

Car dealers were also cautioned by Igweh not to store their vehicles in unapproved parking lots or drive past the designated hour in a statement released on Saturday by Josephine Adeh, the command's spokesman.

According to Adeh, the CP threatened to subject defaulters to the full force of the law.

The statement partly read, “The Commissioner of Police FCT, CP Benneth C. Igweh, has given a marching order that vehicles plying the roads with a single or no number plate should be impounded, with the driver arrested and prosecuted."

Adeh stated that the command has witnessed drivers and auto dealers operating vehicles with a single or no license plate number outside the allotted time.

She continued by saying that instances of "one chance" operators in the Federal Capital Territory have been connected to the practice and urged drivers and dealers to refrain from doing so.
