Nairobi Area Commanding Officer was forced to intervene and plead with the Gen Z youths who were matching in Nairobi Central Business District on Sunday night to go home. The youth marched on the streets of Nairobi CBD after attending a memorial concert in honour of protesters who died during the recent anti-finance bill protests at Uhuru Park.

They sang revolution songs and marched peacefully as anti-riot police officers watched from a distance. A video shared by local journalist Chris Sambu on his X account shows the police boss having a dialogue with the youths and trying to convince them to go home.

The police boss ordered that no anti-riot police officers should come close to the youthful protesters chanting. They agreed to disperse and go home peacefully after having a dialogue.

''Nairobi area commanding officer intervenes as protesters dialogue and agree to disperse for home peacefully! He's ordered no officers should come close to the youthful protesters chanting,'' Sambu tweeted.

Earlier in the day, hundreds of youth had converged at Uhuru Park to honour the protesters who died due to police brutality during the recent anti-finance bill demos. The memorial concert was attended by top Kenyan artists among them Nameless, Juliani, Mr Lenny, Khaligrap Jones, Octopizzo, just to name a few.
