Former Peter Obi presidential campaign director general Doyin Okupe strongly disputed corruption charges in an exclusive interview with Arise News. Okupe has always maintained his innocence, saying categorically that he has never stolen from anyone.

Okupe boasted about his affluent and honourable family history, saying that they are not corrupt but rather work to keep the system running well. In addition to owning a residence in his hometown and another in Ilupeju, he disclosed that he has never been involved in a contract with the federal government. In an unequivocal declaration, he denied ever owning any real estate outside of Nigeria.

While expressing his sorrow over the accusations, Okupe reaffirmed his dedication to honesty and integrity, saying that he and his family are not thieves and instead provide financial assistance to those in need. He denied any misconduct and stressed that he has no motive to be crooked.

In his words;

"I'm not corrupt, I've never taken any money that does not belong to me in my life. I came from a very wealthy, rich family, we don't steal from the system, we protect the system. I've never done a Federal Government contract in my life. I only have two houses. One in Ilupeju and one in my hometown. I have no house anywhere in the World. It's just so sad. I don't steal. In my family, we don't steal, we give people money, we don't steal money. I don't have any reason to steal money, there's no basis"
